In which states is DIonDEMAND disability insurance coverage available?
We presently offer disability insurance in 45 states and the District of Columbia. We do not yet offer coverage in CA, FL, MT, SD or NY, although coverage should be available in those states soon. Coverage is not available in Puerto Rico.
What ages qualify for income protection insurance?
Disability insurance coverage is available for those between the ages of 18 and 60.
Do I have to work in a certain type of occupation to qualify for coverage?
No, we offer coverage for those in the labor, technical, professional and executive occupation classes,
so people in most types of jobs can qualify for coverage.
Will I need to submit financials as part of the application process?
Nope! No financial documentation is required for your approval.
What if I’m a smoker?
Both non-smokers and smokers can qualify for income protection insurance.
What payment options are available?
You may pay for your policy via credit card, debit card or checking account draft. We accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover,
American Express, Diners Club and JCB. You can choose to pay your premium on an annual, semi-annual, quarterly and monthly basis.
What if I change my mind?
DIonDEMAND policies have a 30-day free look period, so if you change your mind within the first 30 days of the policy, you can cancel and receive a full refund.
If I’m unable to work due to illness or injury, when are disability insurance benefits paid?
Disability insurance benefits commence after you have been unable to work for the duration of your elected waiting period, such as 90 days.
How much will I receive each month if I become disabled?
Coverage will last until you are able to work again, or your benefit period has been exhausted. We offer
policies with a 1-year, 2-year, 5-year, and "To Age 67" benefit periods.
How long will coverage last if I become disabled?
Coverage will last for as long as your doctor says you are unable to work up to the limits of the benefit period you choose.

Can I work while I’m out on disability?
Yes, there is a return to work provision in the contract that would pay benefits following a claim of total disability.
How does the policy define disability?
We offer the traditional “Modified Own Occupation” definition as follows: While under the care of a physician,
you are unable to perform the material and substantial duties of your Own Occupation and not engaged in any other Gainful Occupation.
Is the DI on Demand Product Guaranteed Renewable?
Yes, your DIonDEMAND disability insurance policy is Guaranteed Renewable to Age 67. This means that the coverage can't be cancelled
as long as you pay your premiums. The policy will terminate on the first policy anniversary on or after the insured’s 67th birthday.
What’s the difference between disability insurance, income protection insurance and paycheck protection?
There is no difference. Those are just different terms that describe the same type of coverage.
Will Social Security Disability Insurance affect my benefit amount?
No. You can collect both.
What is a COLA rider?
COLA is the acronym for Cost of Living Adjustment. If you choose to add a COLA rider to your policy the monthly
benefit of the base policy is indexed by the change in CPI every 12 months from the date of onset of disability.
The COLA rider is not available with the 2-year benefit period. Contact us for more information.
